Our Story
-Mr Dew, proudly driving our original delivery van-
Tenterden House Interiors is a 5th generation family run furnishing business, starting out in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire in 1826 and named ‘E. Dodimead’. After a long innings this successful business was sold. However, after a small break Robert Willson decided to return to his former passion, after stumbling across a potential site in the picturesque town of Tenterden, Kent. This is where we are still located now, and have been since 1984. Robert Willson retired in 2007 and is unfortunately no longer with us. His wife and business partner, Ingrid Willson, continued running the business alongside their son Jamie Willson, who joined them in 2003. 2016 marked the opening of our new shop, Manor Row Interiors, also in Tenterden. Coinciding with Ingrid’s retirement after 42 years in Tenterden, the decision was made to continue with just one premises, and we closed the doors to Manor Row Interiors in 2026. This allows us to retain our small team, namely Jamie, Amy & Rosemary, whilst continuing to offer the same service.
Our business fronts Tenterden’s much loved high street and boast over 6,000 sq. ft of display, showcasing an eclectic mix of traditional hand-made English furniture, contemporary furniture, upholstery, lighting, gifts and furnishing accessories in all price ranges. Our business prides itself not only on the quality of its products, but also on the care and attention with which we provide our customers.

Our sincere apologies, but we do not sell online. This just isn’t something that we are comfortable doing as we wouldn’t be able to offer the same level of service, flexibility and support as we do in the flesh. However, most things can be arranged by email or over the phone.
